Stoney Point Penguin Colony

The Stony Point land-based penguin colony, operated by CapeNature, is the third-largest breeding colony of African Penguins in the world and has been showing a measurable increase in breeding pairs. A thoughtfully constructed boardwalk allows visitors to meander through the reserve and closely observe the penguins in their natural habitat.

Elgin Railway Market

The Elgin Railway Market is within an old apple warehouse converted into a bustling Steampunk, Art Deco market boasting local food and craft vendors, live music and is the gateway to the beautiful Elgin Valley. Visitors to the market can greet the train on the station platform or view its arrival from the Market’s leisure deck overlooking the railway platform.

Onderskoof Wine Estate

Onderkloof is situated in the historical wine region of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape. The sea and the nearest town, Somerset West, are only 6 kilometers away. The name Onderkloof means “below the valley” and comes from the Pass which leads over the Hottentots Holland Mountains. In earlier years, all goods which have been shipped to and from Cape Town were transported with ox wagons over these mountains into the countryside. The ruts are still visible today and the pass has become a national monument
